Vijay Deverakonda And Samantha Starrer ‘Kushi’ Set For OTT Release

The romantic drama film ‘Kushi’, featuring Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, was released on September 1, 2023, and received decent word-of-mouth reviews. Directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Mythri Movie Makers on a budget of Rs 70 crores, the film has generated close to Rs 38 crore in shares so far. However, its box office collections have slowed down significantly as the week began. In recent days, the film’s occupancy has decreased, and collections have slowed down drastically. It appears that the film has recovered only 70% of its pre-release business, and the competition from other releases like ‘Jawan’ and ‘Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty’ has made the upcoming days challenging. The digital rights for ‘Kushi’ have been acquired by Netflix for a substantial price. It is now expected that the film will be available for digital streaming either on September 30 or October 4, 2023. Given the film’s slowing box office performance, the chances of a digital release by the end of the month seem more likely. ‘Kushi’ tells the story of a couple from different religious backgrounds and also deals with the sensitive issue of pregnancy. The film’s super hit songs have contributed significantly to its initial success, with Hesham Abdul Wahab making a notable Telugu debut as the music composer. It remains to be seen how much more ‘Kushi’ will earn at the box office in the days to come.
