Bengaluru

In a heart-wrenching incident in Bangalore, callous thieves took advantage of a grieving family during a funeral, robbing them of valuable items as they mourned the death of a loved one. The incident unfolded in the state capital, where the thieves displayed a shocking lack of empathy by stealing millions of rupees’ worth of possessions. The unfortunate incident occurred in the aftermath of the passing of Ramanji’s wife, who was laid to rest with her final darshan taking place a short distance away from their home, due to space constraints. In a somber setting, a lamp was lit in the house, and the door was left partially ajar as a customary practice during such events. However, as the family and mourners paid their last respects, a group of heartless thieves seized the opportunity to commit a heinous act. The theft took place under the jurisdiction of the Magadi Road Police Station in Bangalore. Following the incident, Ramanji filed a complaint with the police. The stolen items included gold jewelry worth lakhs of rupees, all of which had been stored in a cupboard within the house. Additionally, a silver mask used for the Varalakshmi festival was also taken. The thieves operated with stealth, and the loss only became apparent after the funeral when Ramanji retrieved his wife’s saree from the cupboard, discovering the theft. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, registering a case based on Ramanji’s complaint. While grief and sorrow often bring people together to offer comfort and support, this unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder that there are individuals who would exploit such situations for personal gain, causing further distress to those already in mourning.
