Police arrested a youth accused of stealing gold jewellery from a known person’s residence. “Naveen, resident of KP Agrahara is said to have stolen Rs. 4.90 Lakh worth jewellery in-order-to gift his girlfriend and it is seized,” said the police. The accused was working in a cafeteria at Jayanagar.
Naveen’s mother was acquainted with Sivasankaraiah’s wife who had stolen the house. The two men were in the same area. So Nivin Kumar would come to Sivasankarayya’s house frequently. Similarly on March 11, Sivasankaraiah stole 109 grams of jewellery from his home while he was not at home.
However, the theft of jewelery was not noticed by the householders. In the wake of the recent Ugadi festival, the missing of the treasure was realized. The homeowner then complained to the police.
The homeowner had expressed concern over Naveen, who was coming home frequently.
Based on CCTV footage, the police have identified the accused in the case and said that they had stolen the jewellery from the house in the locker room when they were arrested and interrogated. He said he had committed this theft for a loved girl and to have fun.
