In a commendable initiative aimed at ensuring access to clean drinking water for all, former Union Minister and ex-Chief Minister, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, inaugurated a newly constructed clean drinking water unit in Valagerehalli Balamuri Ganapati Temple BDA Park, located within the Ullal Ward of the Yeshavantpur Assembly Constituency. The project was made possible through a grant from a Member of Parliament (MP). During the inauguration, Gowda emphasized the significance of clean drinking water for maintaining good health. He stressed that every resident in the ward should have access to clean drinking water, particularly underscoring its importance for the less fortunate. Gowda encouraged individuals to consider the well-being of others by contributing a mere Rs 5 to ensure that the less privileged can enjoy the benefits of good quality clean water. Gowda pointed out the stark contrast in water consumption habits between affluent and economically disadvantaged individuals. While the well-off can afford to pay up to 20 rupees for a liter of purified water, many in poverty-stricken communities resort to consuming water from wells, borewells, and lakes due to financial constraints, which can have detrimental effects on their health. This initiative not only addresses a basic human need but also promotes the concept of social responsibility. By advocating for affordable access to clean drinking water, D.V. Sadananda Gowda underscores the importance of bridging the gap between socio-economic classes when it comes to accessing fundamental necessities.
