Heavy flooding from the Bhima River has inundated several localities in Yadgir town, leaving numerous residents stranded in their homes. Veerabhadreshwara Nagar and Vishwaradhyanagar are among the worst-hit areas, with waist-deep water affecting many households and disrupting daily life.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), along with fire and emergency services teams, has been actively involved in rescuing people trapped by the floodwaters. Since Sunday evening, over 50 residents have been evacuated using boats, with teams working tirelessly to reach those still stranded. Authorities have emphasized that rescue operations are ongoing, prioritizing vulnerable families, including women, children, and the elderly.
Municipal Council President Lalita Anapur and City Development Authority Director Lakshmikanth are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating relief efforts. They assured affected residents that all possible measures are being taken to ensure safety and provide essential support, including access to food, clean water, and temporary shelter.
The flooding has caused widespread disruption, including power outages and difficulty accessing basic amenities. Several streets remain submerged, complicating transportation and emergency response. Authorities have urged residents to avoid moving through waterlogged areas and to cooperate with rescue teams for their safety.
