Only a fraction of voters deleted from Karnataka’s draft electoral rolls have applied for inclusion before the September 23 deadline. More than 80.62 lakh names were classified as absent or shifted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). So far, 6.66 lakh Form-6 applications have been received, including those from new voters. Between June 16 and September 17, the Election Commission received 6,42,670 applications. Another 24,328 were filed during the September 19 campaign, when Booth Level Officers assisted voters. Several voters said they were unaware of the deadline, faced online glitches or did not know their names figured in the ASDDO list. More than 1.07 crore names were deleted during SIR, including over 15 lakh marked absent during enumeration.
