Sahaaya 2.0 resolves thousands of complaints

BENGALURU

The Bengaluru North City Corporation has boosted public service tracking by linking its advanced Sahaaya 2.0 digital platform with the weekly Commissioner Phone-In Programme, ensuring speedy tracking and final closure of everyday civic complaints.

The digital system gathers public complaints from over twenty different channels, including municipal offices, official email portals, WhatsApp groups, and popular social media sites like X and Facebook. All incoming reports are instantly logged and forwarded through the Integrated Command and Control Center to appropriate departmental officers. Across all seven administrative zones within the North Corporation, authorities have registered a total of 1,93,999 complaints so far, successfully resolving 1,92,343 of them while keeping pending cases down to just 1,656.

Divisional resolution numbers show extensive operational reach: Byatarayanapura leads with 39,430 registered and 39,049 resolved cases, followed closely by Sarvagnanagara with 36,175 registered and 35,882 resolved items. Hebbal logged 29,388 cases with 29,185 resolutions, Vidyaranyapura recorded 26,565 entries with 26,351 fixed, Dasarahalli handled 22,651 matters with 22,434 cleared, Yelahanka processed 21,749 complaints with 21,577 settled, and Pulikeshinagara closed 17,865 out of 18,041 total submissions. The remaining pending items largely involve road repairs, garbage clearing, and street lighting fixes. Senior administrators hold daily review meetings, enforcing strict physical field inspections to make certain complaints are fully resolved rather than closed out on paper.

Celebrating a key administrative milestone, the civic body successfully hosted its 52nd weekly Phone-In Programme, allowing residents to speak directly with senior officials about local neighborhood problems. During this interactive session, 60 incoming resident calls generated 65 fresh complaints, focusing heavily on engineering needs, roadside drainage blockages, footpath illegal encroachments, pothole repairs, and unauthorized building constructions.

Ever since this direct phone initiative started, it has handled 3,157 total public grievances, bringing successful closure to 2,816 matters. Acting on direct instructions from Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, local authorities remain committed to transparent governance, ensuring every neighborhood gets prompt attention, accountable leadership, and reliable public utility services across the entire urban municipal network.
