Koppal DC urges youth voter registration before Sept 23

Voting is a vital right in every democracy, and all citizens who reach eighteen must register their names, urged Deputy Commissioner Dr. Suresh B. Itnal.
He spoke at the Taluk Stadium during a major human chain rally organized by the election office and the SVEEP team. The vibrant gathering aimed to build strong public awareness about the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of voter rolls.
The revision drive is progressing rapidly across the entire district. Dr. Itnal advised people to visit polling centers on September 19 and 20 to check draft lists. Anyone turning eighteen before October 1, 2026, can legally register as a new voter. Those omitted must submit Form 6 before September 23 to secure their voting rights. The officer urged youngsters to help friends and neighbors join the democratic process.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Varnit Negi noted that field teams are actively working throughout Karnataka. Dedicated booth officers will sit at centers for two full days to assist visitors with documents. People can also examine records at local village offices. Negi reminded students that civic awareness begins at home, shaping the democratic health of the nation.
To make the event unforgettable, organizers designed an enormous national outline spanning two hundred by one hundred twenty feet. Over four thousand energetic students stood shoulder to shoulder along the boundary, forming an inspiring map of India. They also carefully spelled out key election revision slogans across the green ground.
Officer Dundappa Turadi administered a solemn voting pledge to the crowd, while drone cameras filmed the spectacle from above. Senior department heads S.M. Kamble, Anantha Kumar, Rajashekhar Patil, and A. Basavaraja supported the youth campaign. The colorful effort successfully rallied local communities to protect their power to vote.
