Mysuru
The Mysuru City District Youth Congress observed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday as “National Unemployment Day” and organised a signature campaign at Dasappa Circle here on Thursday, highlighting what it described as the growing unemployment problem among the country’s youth.
Youth Congress workers participated in the campaign and collected signatures as part of an effort to draw the attention of the Central Government towards unemployment, lack of adequate job opportunities and delays in recruitment processes.
The activists demanded that the Union Government take concrete measures to create more employment opportunities for young people, fill vacant posts and expedite recruitment processes.
Speaking on the occasion, Mysuru City District Youth Congress president Syed Abrar said the campaign was aimed at giving voice to the concerns of youngsters seeking employment and drawing the government’s attention to their aspirations. “Young people need answers about their future and opportunities for employment. Our signature is our voice and our fight for our rights,” he said.
Youth Congress workers said the availability of adequate employment opportunities was crucial for the future of the younger generation and urged the Central Government to take effective steps to address unemployment.
The signature campaign witnessed the participation of a number of Youth Congress workers and supporters at Dasappa Circle near the Congress office.
The programme was organised as part of the Youth Congress’s nationwide campaign to highlight employment-related concerns on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
The organisers said the signatures collected during the campaign would be used to convey the concerns and demands of young people to the government.
