Cabinet meeting prompts traffic route changes

There is a possibility of temporary disruption to the traffic system in the city as the Karnataka State Government’s Cabinet meeting will be held on September 18 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office (Praja Soudha) in Padil.

The City Police Department has issued traffic advisories to the public in view of the arrival of cabinet-level ministers, including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, in the city to attend the meeting.

The state Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Ministers will arrive in city on the evening of September 17 and will proceed to Praja Soudha in Padil through the main roads of the city on the morning of September 18. After the meeting, they will leave for Udupi via the helipad at Mary Hill in the afternoon and then return to city for their stay. They will leave the city on the morning of September 19.

In this context, the public is requested to follow the instructions of the police department and use alternative routes in order to ensure the security of the dignitaries and smooth traffic flow.

There will be a procession of dignitaries from Bajpe Airport via Kavoor-Bondel-Maryhill-K.P.T.-Kadri Kambala-Bant’s Hostel-Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Junction-Hampanakatte-Clock Tower-Hamilton Junction.

Traffic will be carried out on the route Hamilton Junction–Clock Tower–Hampanakatte–Dr BR Ambedkar Junction–KPT Junction–Nanturu Circle–Pampuvel–Naguri–Bazal Cross (Praja Soudha)–Padil Junction.

 Vehicles heading towards Hamilton Junction from Badria Junction via Hotel Taj Vivant are advised to take Badria Junction-Nileshwar Road-Rosario Road.

Vehicles heading towards Badria Junction from Hamilton Junction via Taj Vivant front should take an alternative route via Hamilton Junction – Nellikai Road.

Vehicles travelling from Pumpuvel Junction towards Padil via Naguri or from Padil via Naguri towards Pumpuvel can use the Nanthur Circle – Kaikamba – Maroli route. Alternatively, they can also travel via Thokkottu – Deralakatte – Mudipu – Boliyar – Melkar route.

Vehicles going to and from Bajal Cross (Praja Soudha) towards Bajal or Kankanadi Junction Railway Station are advised to continue on National Highway 66 and travel via Jappinamogaru Dwara-Bajal instead of the Padil-Bajal Cross route.
