India’s Sree Charani has become the first Indian bowler to cross the 800-rating mark in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings. The left-arm spinner reached 804 points following her impressive performance in the Asia Cup 2026 final, where she took 4-20 against Sri Lanka to help India secure the title.
Charani finished the tournament with 12 wickets and strengthened her position at the top of the T20I bowlers’ rankings. She is only the third bowler overall to breach the 800-rating mark. Australia pacer Megan Schutt holds the highest-ever rating of 806, while former No.1 Sophie Ecclestone had previously reached 802.
The achievement adds to Charani’s impressive year, after she surpassed Poonam Yadav’s record for the most wickets by an Indian bowler in a calendar year. Her latest ratings milestone puts her within touching distance of Schutt’s record as she continues to lead the rankings.
Deepti Sharma also made significant progress after her performance in the Asia Cup final. The star all-rounder claimed 3-19 and finished the tournament as its leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets. Her performances earned her a four-place rise to No.2 in the bowlers’ rankings with 729 points, although she remains well behind Charani.
India’s record-extending eighth Asia Cup title also brought gains for Shafali Verma. She moved one place up to sixth in the T20I batters’ rankings following her match-winning 68 in the final. Shafali also climbed five places in the all-rounders’ rankings to reach No.15. The latest update highlights the strong impact of India’s players across the rankings following their successful Asia Cup campaign.
