Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has announced the next edition of his ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign, scheduled for September 19 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The campaign will focus on hearing students’ concerns, problems and suggestions as Gandhi seeks to highlight issues linked to education and young people’s futures.
In a post on X, Gandhi addressed students, youth and India’s Gen Z, saying the country was watching them. He alleged that a “broken education system” had extinguished their hopes and pushed their future into darkness. Gandhi said listening to students’ voices, concerns and opinions was essential for bringing changes to the education system.
Under the campaign, Gandhi said he would meet students in different cities to understand their challenges. He urged students to use a shared link to send him their concerns and suggestions ahead of the Indore programme. He said the campaign was aimed at bringing hope back by giving students a platform to speak about their experiences and expectations.
Launched by Congress leaders in 2026, ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ seeks to bring student-related concerns into the national political discourse. The campaign provides a platform for students to raise issues including examination irregularities, paper leaks, rising education costs, recruitment problems and unemployment. Its focus comes as students continue to face challenges related to education and future opportunities.
The campaign has previously been held in Pune, Kota, Dehradun and Prayagraj. Gandhi’s next programme in Indore on September 19 will continue the campaign’s effort to gather student voices from different cities. Through the initiative, he has called for greater attention to students’ problems and suggestions as part of discussions around education and employment directly.
