Salauddin elected president of Ramanagar Silk Society

Mohammed Salauddin was elected president of the Silk Spinners and Weavers Industrial Cooperative Society in Ramanagar on Wednesday.

V. Srinivas was elected vice-president without opposition. The election was held at the society office, where Salauddin defeated Yasin Pasha in the contest for president.

Salauddin secured seven votes, while Yasin Pasha received three votes. Cooperative Department official Manjunath served as the returning officer and supervised the election process. The result marked a victory for the group led by Parvez Pasha, who supported the new leadership.

After his election, Salauddin thanked the directors and leaders for their support. He said he would work with everyone to develop the society into a model institution and protect the interests of silk reelers. He also mentioned that MLA H.A. Iqbal Hussain had provided a grant of Rs 10 lakh and said the society would use available support to improve facilities and business opportunities.

Ramanagara Silk Reelers Association President Parvez Pasha expressed confidence in the new president and vice-president. He said plans would be prepared to support reelers, provide health Sanjeevini cards and assist their children with education. He also said efforts would be made to reduce the interest rate on loans from 10% to 5%.

Ten directors participated in the election. Association Secretary Mauseen Ali Khan, Vice-President Syed Shafiullah and several other leaders were present. The new team said it would focus on improving the society’s services and strengthening support for reelers and their families.
