Mysuru
The electrical illumination planned for the grand Mysuru Dasara celebrations should shine with a fresh concept and an entirely new visual appeal this year, said MLA and Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Chairman Ramesh Bandisiddegowda, directing officials to make elaborate preparations in this regard.
Addressing a meeting held here on Wednesday to review preparations for Dasara illumination, he said the responsibility on the corporation was greater this year and officials should work on a war footing to complete the arrangements within the limited time available. “Our responsibility is greater this year compared to the previous years. We must complete the preparations at a rapid pace and create illumination with a new design and concept that Mysuru has not witnessed in the last three years,” he said.
Think out of box
He said they have to create the illumination in line with the vision and expectations of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. Everyone should come forward with fresh ideas, discuss them collectively and work towards implementing the best concepts effectively. The officials must seek suggestions from those who had been involved in Dasara illumination works in previous years and work together as a team. “People are expecting something new from CESC this Dasara. The illumination should therefore be designed in a more attractive and innovative manner to match their expectations and add a fresh sparkle to the city’s festive atmosphere,” he said.
Ramesh Bandisiddegowda stressed that utmost care should be taken to protect trees while installing decorative lights. Officials and contractors must ensure that no nails are driven into trees and that the illumination work is carried out without causing any damage to the green cover. “Safety must be given the highest priority. At the same time, quality should be maintained in every work undertaken. All preparations for Dasara illumination should be completed successfully while ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety,” he said.
During the meeting, CESC Superintending Engineer Sunil Kumar briefed the gathering on the preparations being undertaken for the Dasara illumination.
CESC Technical Director L. Lokesh, other senior officials and electrical contractors were present at the meeting.
