Minister Priyank Kharge has criticised the BJP over the alleged “purification” controversy in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, following the registration of a Zero FIR by Vidhana Soudha Police against Uttarakhand BJP members and others.
Reacting to the development, Kharge said the incident in Uttarakhand was against the Constitution and maintained that the police were duty-bound to register an FIR after receiving a complaint.
“What has happened in Uttarakhand is against the Constitution. When somebody comes and files a complaint, it is our duty to register an FIR. This should have been done by the Uttarakhand government,” Kharge said. He also questioned the role of the Delhi government and Union Home Minister, saying they should have taken cognisance of the issue and spoken about it. “Unfortunately, they cannot do anything because that is the RSS mindset. Going against them is not good for them,” he alleged.

Kharge also took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his educational qualification. “If Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to participate in an event at Delhi University, ask them to show the Political Science certificate where he claims to have completed his studies,” he said.
‘BJP Is the Real Dummy, Controlled by RSS’
Responding to BJP leader Ashok’s remark that Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar was a “dummy”, Kharge hit back at the BJP. “D.K. Shivakumar is the Chief Minister of Karnataka,” Kharge said, before adding, “The real dummy is the BJP. They are controlled by the RSS.” Kharge alleged that BJP leaders were guided by the RSS and claimed that the party’s positions in the Assembly were dictated by the organisation. “Whatever Keshav Krupa gives in writing, that is what the BJP speaks in the Assembly. The BJP should take education out of the RSS,” he said. He further criticised the BJP, alleging that it had become “worse than a regional party” and questioned its independent functioning.
