Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon on Thursday said India’s rapidly expanding economy reflects the capable, visionary and strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that the country is continuing its growth journey despite economic challenges faced by several nations.
Dhillon cited India’s 7.8 per cent GDP growth in the first quarter as evidence of the economy’s strength and dynamism. He said India’s growth rate, compared with major global economies, indicates that the country is emerging as an important engine of global economic growth.
According to Dhillon, growth across key sectors further demonstrates the impact of government policies focused on industry, investment and infrastructure. He pointed to 12.1 per cent growth in IT and financial services, 9.2 per cent in manufacturing and 11.9 per cent in investment and infrastructure.
He also highlighted a 7.1 per cent rise in domestic consumption and 12 per cent growth in exports, saying both indicators demonstrate the strength of domestic demand and India’s expanding position in international markets.
Dhillon said India was not only becoming economically stronger but was also steadily increasing its influence as a global economic power. He linked the growth momentum to the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047”.
The Punjab BJP chief said strong economic performance, modern infrastructure, higher industrial production, digital transformation and expanding opportunities for young people are central to India’s development journey.
He added that the country’s growing confidence and international influence demonstrate its progress toward becoming a developed and self-reliant nation by 2047.
