Alpine reserve driver Paul Aron is gearing up for another exciting opportunity in Formula One. The Estonian driver will get behind the wheel once again during the opening practice session at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.
Aron will pilot the A526 during Friday morning’s track running at Monza, stepping in to take the seat of Pierre Gasly for the session. This appearance marks another milestone in his busy development year, having already logged practice outings earlier in the season in Barcelona, Austria, and Hungary.
The young driver faces a demanding schedule once the Friday session concludes. He will immediately fly back to the team’s headquarters at Enstone to spend the evening working on the simulator. This crucial late-night effort aims to help engineers fine-tune the car’s setup ahead of Saturday’s qualifying and race sessions.
Aron expressed excitement about returning to the cockpit so quickly after his positive outing in Budapest. He hopes to use his prior simulator experience with the team’s latest upgrade package to provide valuable feedback and compare data on the track.
Meanwhile, the weekend brings positive news for the full-time lineup as well. Both Gasly and teammate Franco Colapinto will run the new upgrade package during the Grand Prix weekend. The parts were initially introduced exclusively on Gasly’s car during the previous race in Zandvoort. With Aron assisting in testing and correlation work from both the cockpit and the simulator, Alpine aims to extract maximum performance from their machinery as the historic Italian weekend gets underway.
