Deputy Commissioner Ekram Sharief has urged eligible beneficiaries whose social security pensions have been withheld to submit the required documents immediately at their respective Tahsildar offices to facilitate restoration of payments.
The DC said pensions of some beneficiaries had been temporarily withheld after their cases were flagged for verification due to various discrepancies.
Village Administrative Officers have already conducted physical verification of beneficiaries through the Samanvaya mobile application, he said. Beneficiaries who were unavailable at their addresses during verification or whose cases are yet to be verified should submit the necessary documents to establish their eligibility and continue receiving the pension.
The DC said beneficiaries should submit an age verification certificate, BPL ration card and a certificate confirming that their annual family income is below the prescribed limit. Those receiving disability pensions must compulsorily submit their UDID card for verification.
Similarly, beneficiaries receiving destitute widow pensions must submit the death certificate of their husband. The documents should be submitted to the concerned Tahsildar office for scrutiny and verification, he said.
Once the submitted documents are verified and the beneficiary is found eligible under the relevant rules, the withheld pension will be restored, Ekram Sharief said. He urged beneficiaries and their families not to delay the submission of documents, as timely verification would help eligible persons resume receiving financial assistance.
The DC, however, warned that pensions of beneficiaries who fail to submit the prescribed and valid documents within the required process would be permanently discontinued. He appealed to eligible beneficiaries to complete the verification formalities at the earliest to avoid losing their pension benefits.
