The registration for the Manipal Arogya Card 2026 will close on August 31, Dr Dilip G Naik, pro-Vice Chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Mangalore Campus, announced at a press meet in Mangaluru.
Speaking to the media, Dr Naik said, launched in 2000 under the guidance of Dr Ramdas M Pai, Chancellor of MAHE, the programme has grown from 3,200 families in its inaugural year to around two lakh families in the last financial year, with nearly 6.5 lakh members currently benefiting across Karnataka and Kerala.
Dr B Unnikrishnan, Dean, KMC Mangalore, said the Manipal Arogya Card is a one-year membership programme aimed at providing affordable healthcare benefits to individuals and families. Cardholders can avail benefits at KMC Hospital Attavar, KMC Hospital Dr B R Ambedkar Circle (Jyothi Circle), Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital, Kateel, Kasturba Hospital Manipal, Dr TMA Pai Hospital Udupi, Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital Karkala, and Manipal College of Dental Sciences in Manipal and Mangaluru.
Dr M Chakrapani, Medical Superintendent, KMC Hospital Attavar, explained the membership plans. Individual membership costs Rs 350, while family membership, covering the individual, spouse and any number of unmarried children below 25 years, costs Rs 700. The Family Plus membership, which additionally covers up to four parents, including in-laws, costs Rs 900. Benefits come into effect from the 15th of the month following enrolment and remain valid until August 15, 2027.
Dr Deepak Madi, Deputy Medical Superintendent, KMC Hospital Attavar, said cardholders can avail up to 50 percent discount on consultation, up to 20 percent on laboratory investigations, up to 20 percent on radiology investigations including CT, MRI, ultrasound and X-ray, and up to 10 percent on OP medicines purchased from the hospital pharmacy. Cardholders can also receive up to 25 percent concession on inpatient bills, excluding consumables and packages, across various ward categories. He added that there is no upper age limit for enrolment, making the scheme particularly beneficial for senior citizens.
The Manipal Arogya Card can be obtained at KMC Hospital Attavar, Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital, Kateel, and through authorised agents across Dakshina Kannada and Northern Kerala.
