AG.AL clinches historic Esports World Cup crown

AG.AL created esports history by winning the 2026 Esports World Cup Club Championship after a thrilling seven-week competition in Paris.
The club collected 5,300 points to finish ahead of Team Falcons and Team Vitality. More than 2,000 players from over 100 countries competed across 25 tournaments in 24 games, with a record prize pool of $75 million.
The title was decided during the final weekend through the inaugural Trackmania tournament. AG.AL’s Gwendal “Gwen” Duparc delivered a stunning performance to win the event and secure the overall championship. Team Falcons had entered the playoffs at the top of the standings, but Carl Jr.’s quarterfinal exit gave AG.AL a major opportunity. Gwen needed a top-three finish and went on to dominate the final.
AG.AL’s success was built on strong performances throughout the tournament. The club won Tekken 8, finished second in Chess, Free Fire and the Honor of Kings World Cup, and took third place in Teamfight Tactics. Team Falcons finished second with 4,600 points, while Team Vitality scored 3,300. The results highlighted AG.AL’s ability to compete strongly across several games.
The Paris event also set impressive records for esports. Organisers reported 850 million viewers, 440 million hours watched and 175,000 competition tickets sold. Around two million visits were recorded across venues, fan events and city activities. Paris also became the first city outside Riyadh to host the Esports World Cup, marking an important step in its global expansion.
AG.AL’s victory capped a memorable tournament filled with standout performances and new records. The championship gave the club its biggest moment yet and confirmed its strength across esports. With the World Cup returning to Riyadh in 2027, AG.AL leaves Paris as the champion and with a lasting place in esports history.
