A total of 56,99,660 voters have been included in Bengaluru’s draft electoral roll prepared under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
District Election Officer and Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao said the draft was published on Monday as directed by the Election Commission of India. It includes 27,69,866 male voters, 29,29,092 female voters and 702 other and transgender voters.
Citizens can submit claims and objections from August 24 to September 23. Notices will be issued and cases will be examined until October 22, while the final electoral roll will be published on October 27, 2026. The draft roll is available at Electoral Registration Officer, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer and ward offices covering all 28 Assembly Constituencies. Citizens can also check their names through the official Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer and Greater Bengaluru Authority websites.
Officials said 56,99,660 voters, or 54.87 percent of the 1,03,88,363 voters recorded on June 16, have been digitised. Another 46,88,703 voters, or 45.13 percent, have been identified under the Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate and Other categories. This information has also been made available online. Following polling station rationalisation, Bengaluru now has 9,008 polling stations, compared with 8,972 earlier.
Young people who turn 18 can apply for enrolment using Form-6, with October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date. Applicants must provide age and residence proof, a recent colour photograph and details connected with the previous SIR. Depending on the case, documents such as birth certificates, passports, educational certificates, residence certificates, caste certificates, land or house allotment papers and other approved records may be required. Form-6 and Form-D can be submitted to Electoral Registration Officers or Booth Level Officers.
Officials said notices will be issued in 24,05,044 ASDD and anomaly cases across Bengaluru. Eligible voters may be called for verification and must appear with required documents to retain their names. Authorities urged citizens to check their details carefully and use the available opportunity to correct the electoral roll before its final publication.
