Minister Laxman Savadi accused the BJP of wasting the Assembly session for the past week by disrupting proceedings instead of allowing discussions on pressing issues such as drought and excessive rainfall in the State. Speaking after being felicitated at the Congress office, Savadi said it was inappropriate to stall the proceedings of the House over an issue concerning an individual. Referring to the controversy surrounding Minister B Nagendra, Savadi said the Lokayukta had already cleared him of the allegations. If the BJP has any additional information, it should present it in the Assembly and allow a discussion, he said. Taking a dig at the Opposition, Savadi expressed hope that BJP leaders would come to their senses and allow the Assembly to take up a discussion on the drought and excessive rainfall situation in the State.
