Financial discipline essential for entrepreneurs

Chitradurga
Every entrepreneur should strictly maintain financial discipline while pursuing a business venture and make effective use of banking facilities to establish self-employment and contribute to the country’s economic development, said Lead Bank Manager M.P. Praveen.
He was speaking at the valedictory programme of a 10-day Entrepreneurship Development Training Programme held on Friday at the District Industries Centre in Chitradurga. The programme was jointly organised by the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihoods, Dharwad’s Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of Karnataka (CEDOK) and the Chitradurga District Industries Centre.
Praveen congratulated the participants who successfully completed the training and explained the various stages involved in obtaining loans and other financial assistance from banks. He also shared practical suggestions to help new entrepreneurs understand and overcome challenges that may arise while starting and managing a business.
Speaking on the occasion, Chitradurga CEDOK Deputy Director Shivanand Yaligar said people who start their own businesses should aim to become job creators rather than limiting themselves to self-employment. He said the government is providing greater encouragement and support to entrepreneurship and urged aspiring entrepreneurs to make full use of the available schemes and opportunities.
District Industries Centre Superintendent Ramesh was present at the programme. Trainee Pavithra offered the prayer, while Thippeswamy welcomed the gathering and Maruthi proposed the vote of thanks. CEDOK trainer P. Vijay Kumar compered the programme.
