Social service should be continued with dedication without being affected by praise, criticism, honour or humiliation, said Abhinava Gavisiddheshwara Swamiji of Koppal Gavimath.
He was speaking at a religious gathering held in Hanagal on Wednesday as part of the inauguration of the Sri Gramadevi Shila Mandir and the installation of the deity. He said people should lead their lives by doing good deeds and serving society. “Do not be distracted by criticism. Believe in good work and continue serving society,” he advised.
Jagadguru Dr. Gurusiddharajayogindra Swamiji of Hubballi’s Moorusaviramath said people should live with faith in God and maintain a pure mind while serving others. He described India as a land of spirituality and said God appreciates service performed with sincerity and a selfless attitude.
Vishwanath Chakravarthi of Sri Kshetra Agadi Anandavana said serving people was equivalent to serving God. He urged people to make their lives meaningful by following the values and ideals of elders and engaging in social service.
MP and former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said people should experience the spiritual power of devotion and maintain concentration in their hearts and minds while following the path of faith.
MLA Srinivas Mane said unwavering faith in God should be accompanied by strong human values. He stressed the importance of selfless service and a pure mind.
Gramadevi Temple Committee president Manjunath Nagajjanavar presided over the programme. Senior Jatalinga Mahaswamiji of Hoovinahadagali, Tahsildar Vitthal Chougala, municipal chief officer Y.K. Jagadish and others were present.
