Koppal Deputy Commissioner Dr Suresh B. Itnal has directed officials to ensure that benefits and facilities available under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCP) and Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries without delay.
He was speaking while chairing a meeting of the Awareness and Monitoring Committee constituted under the Karnataka Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan and Tribal Sub-Plan (Planning, Allocation and Utilisation of Financial Resources) Act, 2013, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Friday.
Itnal directed officials to ensure proper utilisation of funds earmarked under SCP and TSP schemes. He said all development works and programmes should be completed within the stipulated period and instructed departments to take immediate steps to clear pending works. Priority should be given to effective utilisation of the allocated funds, he added.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed that departments must implement SCP and TSP programmes in accordance with their objectives and prescribed guidelines. Officials should carefully monitor implementation and maintain transparency in the use of funds. They must clearly provide details regarding the purpose for which funds were utilised and the locations where development works were carried out, he said.
Itnal further directed officials to achieve departmental targets within the prescribed timelines. He emphasised the need for proper planning, monitoring and timely execution so that the intended benefits reach disadvantaged communities.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Varnit Negi said programmes implemented under the SCP and TSP schemes should progress according to the prescribed targets. He directed officials to identify eligible beneficiaries accurately and ensure that government benefits and facilities are delivered to them effectively.
During the meeting, department-wise progress under the SCP, TSP and development programmes for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes was reviewed up to the end of July 2026. Officials discussed the implementation status, utilisation of funds and progress towards departmental targets under the 2013 Act.

Krishnamurthy, Horticulture Department Joint Director Krishna Ukkund, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Department Deputy Director Dr P.M. Mallayya, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Deputy Director Vishwanath, Women and Child Development Department Deputy Director Amaresh, Pre-University Education Department Deputy Director Jagadish, Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director Karnakumar and officials and staff from various departments attended the meeting.
