Kerakoll supports sustainable construction of Viveka Smaraka

Mysuru

Kerakoll, an Italian company specialising in sustainable building materials, has contributed eco-friendly construction solutions to the newly inaugurated Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre, known as Viveka Smaraka, in Mysuru, Karnataka.

The centre has been established to promote the teachings and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and stands at the historic site of the former Niranjana Math on N.S. Road. Swami Vivekananda stayed at the site as a wandering monk in November 1892. The property was later handed over by the government to Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, for the development of the centre.

Led by Ashram President Swami Muktidananda, the facility has been designed as a youth-focused centre where more than 10,000 students are expected to participate in specialised workshops and programmes. The project combines cultural heritage with modern facilities aimed at encouraging education, personal development and youth engagement.

Spread across more than 81,600 square feet, the complex includes a basement, a G+3 main building and a G+2 annex. The centre features a 4D Experience Centre, a 700-seat amphitheatre, exhibition halls, classrooms, conference facilities, a library and dedicated meditation and yoga spaces.

Kerakoll supplied four of its eco-friendly product systems for critical structural and finishing applications. The products included H40 Gel White, Aquastop Flex, Biofix Grey and Fugalite Colour. The company said the solutions were selected to support structural durability, aesthetics and indoor environmental quality while meeting the requirements of a high-use institutional facility.

Ahzam Javed, Regional Director, Asia Pacific, Kerakoll, said the company was proud to contribute to a project of national, cultural and spiritual importance. He said the company’s focus was on creating healthy, durable and environmentally responsible spaces and added that its engineered solutions would help the facility maintain high architectural and environmental standards over the long term.

The company said its involvement in the Viveka Smaraka project further strengthens its position as a technology partner for institutional, commercial and heritage projects in India, combining Italian engineering expertise with sustainable mineral-based construction technology.
