CEO conducts surprise Inspection of Gram Panchayats

CH NEWS, VIJAYAPURA

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rishi Anand conducted surprise inspections of several gram panchayats on Tuesday.

The CEO visited Ainapur, Madabhavi, Honnutagi and Aheri gram panchayats and reviewed the functioning of the panchayat offices, attendance of officials and staff, public services, implementation of the VB-G RAM-G scheme and the progress of various rural development works.

During the inspection, Rishi Anand stressed punctuality, discipline and accountability among gram panchayat staff. Applications and petitions submitted by the public should be disposed of within the stipulated time without causing unnecessary inconvenience, he said.

At Honnutagi Gram Panchayat, the CEO interacted with residents and gathered information about the implementation of government schemes and employment opportunities available under the VB-G RAM-G scheme. He instructed Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) to intensify Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities and create awareness among rural workers so that more eligible labourers could be engaged in development works. Officials also brought the issue of drinking water supply in several villages to his notice. The CEO directed the concerned officials to conduct a field inspection and take necessary action.

Rishi Anand later inspected the Ramateertha lake rejuvenation work and reviewed its progress, quality, number of labourers engaged and the method of execution. He also instructed officials to engage sufficient labourers and identify eligible individual works, including farm ponds, that could benefit rural households under the scheme.

The CEO personally observed the recording of workers’ attendance through NMMS Face Authentication at the worksite. He instructed officials to ensure accurate attendance records and prevent any discrepancies in the generation of person-days and wage payments.

The early-morning surprise inspection was aimed at improving administrative discipline, staff attendance, public service delivery and the implementation of rural development works at the gram panchayat level.

Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Gurushantappa Bellundagi, Assistant Director SR Katti, Honnutagi PDO Sudha Rebinall, Aheri PDO Mallikarjun Madar, Technical Coordinator Parashuram Shahapur and other officials were present.
