Officials told to ensure hassle-free ration distribution

District Guarantee Scheme Implementation Authority Chairman Chikkalingaiah has directed officials to install detailed Annabhagya scheme information banners in all fair price shops.

He said beneficiaries should receive clear information about their entitlements and urged officials to ensure ration distribution without inconvenience.

Officials said 73,50,911 beneficiaries are covered under Annabhagya in the district. The government has ordered August and September 2026 NFSA ration to be distributed together during August. Therefore, separate Annabhagya rice distribution will not take place in August. Ration will be distributed from 6 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 8 pm after supplies reach shops.

Under Grihalakshmi, 4,66,273 beneficiaries were registered by May 2026. Of these, 4,36,268 eligible women received ₹87,25,36,000 through 32 instalments. Chikkalingaiah asked officials to help beneficiaries facing problems because of joint bank accounts by converting them into separate accounts. Officials also reported 12,943 beneficiary deaths and urged ASHA and Anganwadi workers to promptly share such information.

Under Shakti, 22,93,21,991 women passengers received free travel in Mandya district until July 2026, generating ₹642,55,06,039 in transport revenue. Under Yuvanidhi, 10,526 candidates registered by June, while 9,645 beneficiaries received ₹28,23,46,500 through 94,921 instalments. Chikkalingaiah called for wider awareness programmes in schools and colleges.

Under Grihajyothi, 5,05,893 consumers had registered by June, with 5,03,153 receiving benefits. Officials said door-to-door data collection was 75% complete. Vice-Chairman K. Hanumanthaiyya, Rajendra Prasad, Shivanna, Zilla Panchayat Planning Officer Dhanush and other officials attended the meeting. The chairman stressed that timely information and proper implementation should remain the priority so eligible families receive benefits without delays.
