Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister and district in-charge minister Eshwar Khandre inaugurated two advanced orthopaedic operation theatres established at the Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences (BRIMS) in the city.
Speaking after the inauguration, Khandre said the operation theatres had been developed with modern facilities on the lines of similar facilities in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Solapur.
He said the new facilities would significantly benefit patients suffering from bone and joint-related ailments, particularly those requiring urgent surgical intervention.Khandre said the establishment of the operation theatres was made possible through the efforts of himself and MLA Rahim Khan. He added that the government has set a target of establishing 12 advanced operation theatres at BRIMS in the coming days to further strengthen healthcare infrastructure at the institution.
BRIMS Director Dr Shantala Koujalagi urged eligible patients to make full use of the healthcare facilities available under the Ayushman Bharat health card scheme.She said the availability of advanced surgical infrastructure at BRIMS would help improve access to specialised treatment for patients from Bidar and surrounding areas.
MLA Rahim Khan, Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Sharma, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr Girish Badole, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mukul Jain, Dr Jabasheddi, along with doctors, officials and staff of BRIMS, were present during the inauguration.
