Magadi Cooperative Society expands services with technology

The Taluk Veerashaiva Cooperative Society has expanded its services after renovating its building and introducing new digital facilities.

Sri Shivasiddheshwara Swamiji, junior Peethadhyas of Siddaganga Mutt, Tumakuru, inaugurated the facilities and said cooperative institutions play an important role in improving the economic condition of common people, farmers and small traders.

Speaking at the event, the Swamiji said the society has served people for 21 years and deserves praise for adopting modern technology. He said such institutions should focus not only on profit but also on providing transparent, dependable services. Basavaraj Swamiji of Jadedevara Math said the society also contributes to social welfare by helping poor people and students and supporting cow protection.

Society president SCBS Shivarudraiah said the organization began with 1,565 members and now has 2,900 members. It has recorded a turnover of Rs. 2.5 crore and has remained profitable with public support. Vice president H.R. Shivaprasad said the society has been developed on the lines of nationalized banks and has introduced several new facilities for members.

He said loan facilities now include vehicle, mortgage and gold loans, along with fixed deposits, recurring deposits and savings accounts, with facilities available up to Rs. 5 lakh. Members who have existing hand loans can also seek other loans according to rules. Several directors, officials, religious leaders and community representatives attended the program and welcomed the society’s continued growth and modernization.
