District Collector Rahul Pandey inspected roads, footpaths, markets and public areas across Yadgir city on Wednesday and directed officials to improve cleanliness and remove obstacles affecting public movement.
During his early morning tour, he reviewed conditions from the Degree College area to Kanaka Circle and instructed officials to take immediate action.
The Collector inspected internal roads and discussed traffic problems with Municipal Commissioner Umesh Chavan. He sought details about road widths and obstructions and ordered officials to remove anything blocking smooth traffic. He also directed that construction materials kept on roads be cleared immediately and that roads remain open across their full width for public use.
Pandey stressed that footpaths should be free of encroachments so pedestrians can move safely. He ordered officials to clear garbage from roadsides and impose fines according to rules on people who dump waste in public places. He also directed regular sweeping and thorough cleaning of roads to remove accumulated soil and dirt and keep the bitumen surface clearly visible.
During his visit to the vegetable market, the Collector instructed officials to maintain cleanliness and ensure the area remains orderly. He also asked them to identify drains without slabs and install the required covers without delay. He said roads and footpaths must be maintained in a manner that ensures safe movement for residents.
The Collector interacted with residents during the inspection and listened to their complaints and concerns. Later, he visited Mahatma Gandhi Park near Jawahar College and reviewed its condition. He directed officials to take necessary steps to improve maintenance and prepare the park for public use. Municipal officials accompanied him during the inspection.
