Vidhana Soudha will transform into a grand musical stage as Bengaluru celebrates Independence Day through ‘Freedom Habba’ on August 15.
The special music collective, beginning at 6 pm, will bring together 10 popular artists on the steps of Vidhana Soudha. Sanjith Hegde, Brodha V, Raghu Dixit, Siddharth Belmannu, Varijashree Venugopal, Harish Sivaramakrishnan, Praveen Rao, M.D. Pallavi, Nakul Abhyankar and Bruce Lee Mani will perform during the evening.
The event aims to bring Bengaluru’s music, culture, heritage and citizens together at one of the city’s most iconic public spaces. Families, youngsters, music lovers and citizens are expected to participate in the open-air celebration.
The initiative is part of the broader ‘Freedom Habba’ festival, envisioned as a citizen-led celebration of Independence Day through music, culture, heritage, participation and unity.
“Independence Day should not merely be seen as a ceremony, but as a celebration that all of us create together. What better way is there to bring Bengaluru together than through music?” said Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda.
He said ‘Freedom Habba’ was an invitation to every Bengalurean to step out, celebrate and become part of the city’s collective spirit.
With the theme ‘One City. One Spirit. One Unforgettable Evening’, the Music Collective seeks to create a memorable Independence Day experience for Bengaluru.
As the performances begin, the grand steps of Vidhana Soudha will provide a unique backdrop for an evening combining live music with the spirit of freedom. The organisers expect thousands of citizens to gather and participate in the celebration on August 15.
