Gadag District Savita Samaj president Krishna H. Hadapada has urged Congress leaders to appoint Sachin D. Patil as president of the Gadag District Congress Committee.
He said Patil’s leadership could strengthen the party and help it perform well in upcoming local body elections.
A delegation of district leaders and Savita Samaj representatives met AICC secretary and district chief observer Vivek Bansal, who was in Gadag to review the party’s situation and workers’ concerns. The delegation submitted a petition seeking Patil’s appointment and highlighted his organisational experience and public work.
Hadapada praised Patil’s contribution to education through the K.H. Patil College and Polytechnic institutions. He said Patil had helped provide quality education to students from poor and disadvantaged families and had personally supported some students facing financial difficulties. He described Patil as a leader who remained connected with ordinary people.
He also credited Patil with helping party workers secure opportunities in Gram Panchayats, Taluk Panchayats, Zilla Panchayats, municipalities and other local bodies. Hadapada said Patil had the ability to bring workers together during disagreements and maintain unity despite differences.
The delegation said Patil’s public contact, organisational skills and ability to understand the district’s social diversity made him suitable for the post. Former Youth Congress president Ravikumar Reddy, Savita Samaj treasurer Arun Rampur, Nagar Sabha member Chummi Nadaf, youth leader Anilkumar Siddamanahalli and social activist Abdulmunaf Mulla were among those present. Hadapada urged AICC and KPCC leaders to consider the demand and appoint Patil to strengthen the Congress organisation in Gadag.
Gadag Congress needs fighter, says Ravikumar Reddy
Former Gadag District Youth Congress president Ravikumar Reddy has urged the party high command to appoint Sachin Patil as the district Congress president. Reddy said the district needs a leader who works directly with party workers instead of remaining in an office. He praised Patil as a grassroots leader who has supported and encouraged young people in the party. Comparing Patil’s role with D.K. Shivakumar’s organizational skills in Karnataka, Reddy described Patil as a troubleshooter who can strengthen the party at the district level. He said appointing Patil would help improve the party’s organization and survival.
