Congress leaders and supporters celebrated former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s birthday by organising various welfare activities for the poor and underprivileged in Mysuru on Wednesday.
At the Government School for Blind and Deaf Children in Tilak Nagar, the Shivanna Sneha Balaga, in association with BGS Apollo Hospital and Sanjeevini Dental Clinic, conducted a free health check-up and distributed medicines and food to the students. MLC Dr. Thimmaiah, Mysuru City Congress president R. Murthy, Congress leader Shivanna, Ravi Manchegowdanakoppalu, Asha, Ravi, Dairy Venkatesh and Suresh Gold were among those present.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders led by former Mysuru Zilla Panchayat member and Guarantee Schemes Committee chairman K. Maruthi celebrated Siddaramaiah’s birthday at K.R. Hospital by distributing biscuits and sweets to patients. Maruthi said Siddaramaiah had always championed the interests of the poor, backward communities, Dalits and farmers and worked for the overall development of Karnataka.
In another programme, the Dr. S. Yathindra Siddaramaiah Foundation celebrated Siddaramaiah’s birthday by cutting a cake and distributing sweets in front of the Srikanteshwara Temple in Nanjangud taluk. Foundation founder K.R. Ravikumar said prayers were offered for Siddaramaiah’s continued strength and active participation in politics and for the Congress to return to power in the next election.
Zoo Authority chairman Rangaswamy, Ravi, president of Kempi Siddanahundi Gram Panchayat, Biligere Gold Suresh, Beerayya, Guarantee Schemes Committee member Ravi and several Congress workers and supporters participated.
