Mysuru
The CAVA Alumni Association organised a successful alumni reunion at Chamarajendra Government College in Siddharthanagar, Mysuru, bringing together nearly 400 former students from the first KAWA batch of 1982 to last year’s graduating batch. The reunion provided an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with their alma mater and relive cherished memories of their college days.
As part of the programme, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the construction of a large-scale artwork near the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, connecting the college to the T. Narasipur Main Road. CAVA Dean A. Devaraju performed the groundbreaking ceremony and formally launched the project.
Later, under the theme “Growing Masterpiece,” saplings were planted on the college campus in the names of renowned and historic artists. In another programme, alumni picked up paintbrushes after two or three decades to create graffiti artwork on the college compound wall, bringing back memories of their artistic days on campus.
At the subsequent stage programme, retired deans, professors and staff members of the college were felicitated by the Alumni Association. Dean A. Devaraju and former Administrator Nirmala Mathapathi were specially honoured on the occasion.
Speaking at the programme, Devaraju expressed concern over the recent decline in student admissions to CAVA, and warned that if the trend continued, it could adversely affect the very existence of the institution.
He appreciated the Alumni Association’s special concern for the college and its students. “It is encouraging to see the alumni taking a keen interest in the welfare of the college and its students. Discussions have already been held with the association regarding the decline in admissions. All necessary steps will be taken in the coming days for the development and upgradation of the college,” he assured.
CAVA Alumni Association president Manjunath, vice-president Madhusudhan S.R., secretary Surya, joint secretary Ullas, treasurer Harish Hegde, and directors Ranjhu P., Pavan, Syed Muzaid, Ramesh S., Shwetha, Insha and Nithya Kalyani were present.
