Two men were arrested after attacking police personnel who arrived to stop a late-night fight in Murudeshwar, Uttara Kannada. Rowdy-sheeter Raju and his associates allegedly attacked Head Constable Sangappa and Constable Vinayak Shetty with knives. Sangappa suffered serious abdominal injuries and was shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru for surgery. Police have registered an attempt-to-murder case against five accused. Raju and Manoj were taken into custody, while three others remain absconding. Meanwhile, Mundgod reported two thefts in one night, including the theft of a temple hundi and a shop break-in. Police have launched investigations amid concerns over rising thefts.
