Major opposition parties in the state have forged a united political front to challenge controversial government developments. Leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Janata Dal Secular announced a joint campaign against the proposed Bidadi Township project following a high-level coordination meeting held at a private hotel.
Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok addressed the media after the gathering, calling upon party workers from both sides to actively participate in the upcoming protests. As part of their collaborative strategy, the two parties plan to organize joint public conferences across Bengaluru and coordinate resistance efforts at the district level.
Ashok noted that JDS has already extended strong support to BJP legislative initiatives. Moving forward, both groups intend to corner the government inside the assembly on key issues, including ongoing drought conditions, irregularities within the Karnataka Public Service Commission, the NICE corridor project, and the township development. A dedicated five-member coordination committee from each party will be established within the next few days to manage joint operations.
In addition to street-level protests, leaders are considering organizing a joint legislative meeting to plan their parliamentary strategy. Meanwhile, discussions regarding potential protests over ministerial appointments remain ongoing, with a final decision expected soon. Opposition leaders emphasized that this alliance will coordinate tightly to hold the administration accountable on critical public welfare matters.
