Law enforcement officers in the garden city have initiated a massive verification drive to track down foreign nationals staying without valid paperwork. Named Operation Mukta, the extensive sweep kicked off with a heavy deployment of security personnel across multiple sensitive tech corridor zones.
More than five hundred police officers took part in the sudden raids across the Whitefield division. Teams checked identity papers and background records in several neighborhoods, including Marathahalli, Bellandur, Kadugodi, and Mahadevapura. Many individuals working locally as housekeepers, security guards, and daily wage earners were subjected to strict document checks.
Local Deputy Commissioner of Police Saidulu Adawat noted that the statewide initiative follows strict instructions from the city police commissioner. Authorities plan to flag anyone found residing without proper legal clearance to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office. Official deportation proceedings will follow standard legal channels. Furthermore, strict legal actions are underway against local landlords who rent out property to foreign nationals without verifying identity records. Already, multiple cases against property owners have been registered in the division.
Meanwhile, similar enforcement actions have stretched beyond the capital. Police in the Chikkamagaluru district recently took five foreign nationals into custody during routine inspections at local estates. Officers found questionable identity materials during a background check of workers residing near local coffee plantations. District authorities continue to monitor plantation housing, homestays, and resorts closely to curb unauthorized stays. Officials emphasize that these safety checks will persist across the region until all unauthorized residents are properly identified and removed through legal steps.
