The AmbliGola reservoir in Shikaripura taluk has reached full capacity following good rainfall in the Malnad region, bringing relief to farmers who depend on the reservoir for agricultural activities.
Shivamogga MP B.Y. Raghavendra and BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra offered traditional bagina to the reservoir after it filled and water began flowing through the surplus channel.
Raghavendra shared details of the ceremony on X, describing the reservoir filling up and overflowing as a matter of great happiness.
The MP prayed for continued blessings of the rain god and expressed hope that the improved water availability would bring greater agricultural prosperity to Shikaripura taluk and the wider Shivamogga district. He also wished for peace, happiness and prosperity in every farming family.
The reservoir’s full capacity is expected to provide an important boost to agricultural activities in the surrounding areas. Farmers in Shikaripura and nearby regions have been closely watching rainfall and water levels, particularly after the district experienced varying rainfall conditions earlier in the monsoon.
