India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) model is emerging as a key pillar of digital diplomacy, with 23 countries signing cooperation agreements ahead of the AI Impact Summit. Built around platforms such as Aadhaar, UPI, DigiLocker and India Stack, the framework is gaining global recognition for enabling secure digital identity, payments and public services. Experts say India’s G20 Presidency accelerated international interest in DPI as a scalable governance model. With AI integration through initiatives like Bhashini, India aims to enhance multilingual public services. Analysts, however, stress the need for strong data privacy, transparency and regulatory safeguards as AI-driven digital systems expand.
