Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour and Employment Shobha Karandlaje has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the alleged irregularities in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) Veterinary Officers recruitment process.
In her letter, Karandlaje alleged that the recruitment process was tainted by corruption, abuse of official position, manipulation and criminal conspiracy, and maintained that only an independent central agency could conduct a fair and comprehensive investigation.
She stated that the allegations pointed to large-scale irregularities, including possible payment of illegal gratification and systematic manipulation of the recruitment process. According to the minister, failure to conduct an impartial inquiry would undermine public confidence in the transparency and integrity of government recruitment.
She argued that lakhs of aspirants deserved a recruitment system free from corruption and undue influence and that the seriousness of the allegations warranted intervention by the CBI to uncover the full extent of the alleged conspiracy, identify those involved, trace the flow of illegal gratification and fix accountability without fear or favour.
Karandlaje urged Amit Shah to immediately entrust the investigation to the CBI in the interest of justice, transparency and public confidence in constitutional institutions. She expressed hope that the Union Home Minister would take prompt action on her request.
The letter came amid continuing allegations over the KPSC Veterinary Officers recruitment process and renewed demands for an independent investigation into the matter.
