Persistent Q1 profit falls despite revenue growth

IT major Persistent Systems Limited reported an 8.7 per cent sequential decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 483 crore for the first quarter of FY27, compared with Rs 529 crore in the previous quarter. Revenue from operations, however, rose 6.1 per cent to Rs 4,303 crore. EBIT declined 11.8 per cent to Rs 582 crore, while the EBIT margin contracted by 280 basis points to 13.5 per cent. CEO Sandeep Kalra said record quarterly contract value of $1.15 billion reflected strong demand. The company also signed a business combination agreement with European digital engineering firm Nagarro.
