The special comprehensive revision of electoral rolls is underway in Karnataka, with over 84 lakh ASDDO voters identified during the verification process. Chief Electoral Officer V. Anbukumar said that 76.99 percent of enumeration applications have been digitized across the state.
According to officials, 5.54 crore enumeration forms were distributed, out of which 4.26 crore forms have been digitized so far. During the verification process, 84,31,612 voters were identified under categories including absent, shifted, deceased, duplicate and other cases.
Anbukumar explained that among the identified voters, 11.61 lakh were found missing, while 51.74 lakh had permanently shifted from their registered addresses. Around 14.99 lakh voters were reported deceased, and 5.62 lakh people were found registered in more than one place. Another 33,042 cases were listed under other categories.
The Chief Electoral Officer urged citizens to submit pending enumeration forms to Booth Level Officers at the earliest. He said around 43 lakh forms are yet to be returned and warned that names can be included in the draft voter list only after submission and verification. The last date for submitting forms is August 8.
Anbukumar also said eligible citizens who will turn 18 by October 1, 2026, can apply for voter registration through Form-6. In the Bruhat Bengaluru Authority area, over one crore voters are registered, with more than 39 lakh cases identified under the revision process.
Officials have been instructed to share details with political parties, especially in areas with higher numbers of identified cases. The revision aims to prepare an accurate and updated electoral roll before the final publication.
