Authorities have begun preparations for the historic Sri Topalamma Jatra Mahotsava in Andhrahalli village with officials instructed to take strict safety measures during the three-day celebration.
MLA S.T. Somashekar said precautionary steps must be followed to avoid any untoward incidents as thousands of devotees are expected to attend the event. More than 50,000 people are likely to participate from nearby villages and districts, making arrangements for drinking water, health checks, cleanliness, parking and traffic management essential. Officials were asked to ensure smooth movement of visitors and provide necessary facilities throughout the festival period.
The temple premises will receive special decorations with electric lights and authorities must maintain uninterrupted power supply. Roads should remain clean with proper lighting systems and police security should be strengthened around the temple area. ST Morcha former president Prakash T. Matanadi requested additional police deployment to protect women and children attending the celebrations.
He also advised devotees wearing valuable ornaments to remain cautious and avoid overcrowding. ACP Ashok, BESCOM EE Shivakumar, Traffic Inspector Jyoti, senior village leader Topalappa, ward president Bale Muniraju, GBA officials, water board representatives and villagers attended the meeting. The officials assured that all departments would work together to conduct the Sri Topalamma Jatra Mahotsava peacefully. The three-day festival is expected to showcase devotion and tradition while ensuring public convenience with harmony.
