Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday paid floral tributes to former Union Minister and veteran parliamentarian S. Jaipal Reddy on his death anniversary, remembering him as a statesman who dedicated his life to democratic values and public service.
The Chief Minister offered tributes to Jaipal Reddy’s portrait at his official residence in New Delhi. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud and several senior Congress leaders joined him in paying homage to the late leader.
In his message, Revanth Reddy described Jaipal Reddy as an unassuming political leader, an exceptional parliamentarian and an accomplished orator who remained committed to strengthening democratic institutions throughout his political career. He said the former Union Minister would always be remembered for his integrity, deep understanding of public issues and unwavering commitment to national development.
The Chief Minister also recalled Jaipal Reddy’s significant contribution to the movement for a separate Telangana state, stating that his leadership and vision played an important role in fulfilling the aspirations of the people. He added that Jaipal Reddy’s dedication to public welfare, political values and selfless service would continue to inspire future generations.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy’s wife, Geetha Reddy, paid floral tributes at Jaipal Reddy’s memorial, Spoorthi Sthal, at Necklace Road in Hyderabad. Geetha Reddy, who is the late leader’s niece, was joined by Telangana ministers and Congress leaders during the homage ceremony.
Industry and Information Technology Minister D. Sridhar Babu also praised Jaipal Reddy’s parliamentary legacy, highlighting his distinguished service in several Union ministries and recalling his instrumental role in facilitating Hyderabad Metro Rail during his tenure as Union Urban Affairs Minister.
