BIDAR
Heavy rain lashed Humnabad town and several parts of the taluk from Wednesday afternoon until evening, bringing normal life to a standstill and causing water logging in low-lying areas. Villages including Kallur, Hudgi, Janata Nagar, Manik Nagar, Gadavanti and Molkera witnessed overcast skies from early morning, followed by intense rainfall in the afternoon. The downpour disrupted agricultural activities, preventing farmers from carrying out fieldwork. Several farmers said continuous rainfall delayed routine farming operations during the ongoing agricultural season. In Humnabad town, rainwater accumulated on several roads. The stretch from Theru Maidan to Dr BR Ambedkar Circle was inundated, with water flowing like a stream and causing inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians. While the rainfall is expected to improve soil moisture for crops, the heavy showers also highlighted the need for better stormwater drainage in the town to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon.
