DC orders faster Anganwadi building completion

KOPPAL

Koppal Deputy Commissioner Dr. Suresh B. Itnal directed officials to expedite the construction of all pending Anganwadi buildings and implement aggressive measures to eradicate child malnutrition across the district.

Presiding over a coordination committee meeting at the District Collector’s office, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed key welfare initiatives run by the Women and Child Development Department.

Dr. Itnal warned that monthly performance reviews will track progress, and negligent staff members will face strict disciplinary action. He stressed that Anganwadi workers and field supervisors must proactively convince reluctant parents to send malnourished children to rehabilitation centers.

The meeting also reviewed major social welfare programs, including Grihalakshmi, Mission Shakti, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and the Sakhi One Stop Centre. Department heads, police representatives, and UNICEF coordinators attended the review session, pledging complete cooperation to ensure government benefits reach all eligible women and children seamlessly.
