Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday welcomed the Centre’s decision to establish fast-track courts for paper leak cases, asserting that the move reflects the government’s commitment to protecting the interests of students and ensuring swift justice against those responsible.

Addressing the ongoing political row over examination irregularities, Chouhan accused Opposition parties of exploiting an issue affecting lakhs of students for political mileage rather than sincerely working towards safeguarding their future. He claimed that while the government was focused on strengthening the examination system, the Opposition was more interested in creating political narratives.

The Union Minister also criticised the Opposition for repeatedly stalling Parliament, stating that the government remained prepared for a comprehensive discussion on issues related to youth aspirations, including examination reforms and paper leaks. However, he alleged that Opposition members were constantly changing their demands and disrupting proceedings to avoid meaningful debate.

Echoing similar views, several BJP MPs accused the INDIA bloc of adopting disruptive tactics inside Parliament and misleading students through what they described as manufactured anger. They argued that a structured parliamentary discussion would expose the Opposition’s own record on education reforms, which is why it was reluctant to participate.

Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur highlighted the government’s reforms aimed at improving transparency and security in examinations. He said fast-track courts would ensure strict punishment for those involved in paper leak rackets.
