Taluk Panchayat Assistant Director Shivakumar Ghate has appealed to all eligible rural families in Aurad taluk to make effective use of the benefits available under the VB-G Ram G Scheme, aimed at providing employment opportunities, strengthening rural development and improving livelihoods.
Speaking after inspecting ongoing drain desilting work at Dhoopatmahagaon village in Aurad taluk, Ghate said the government has introduced several reforms to enhance employment security for economically weaker rural households.
“Every eligible family should come forward and take advantage of the facilities provided under the scheme,” Ghate said, highlighting the importance of ensuring that rural households benefit from government employment programmes.
He also informed that workers participating in the scheme must record their attendance through the National Mobile Monitoring System (NMMS) at work locations. The system helps maintain transparency and monitor the progress of works being carried out under the programme.
Ghate further stated that the scheme provides a 60-day break period for agricultural activities, allowing rural workers to focus on farming-related responsibilities. He added that eligible beneficiaries can also avail unemployment allowance as per the provisions of the scheme.
Urging people to understand the complete details of the programme, Ghate encouraged villagers to approach concerned officials and utilise the available support effectively.
During the inspection, Technical Assistant Sharanappa Rakshe, DEO Prakash Kashinath, Gram Kayak Mitra Jagadevi, Taluk Panchayat IEC Coordinator Ambadas Patil, workers engaged in the desilting activity and villagers were present.
Officials said awareness among rural families is essential to ensure maximum participation and successful implementation of employment-oriented schemes at the grassroots level.

The daily wage under the scheme has been increased from Rs. 370 to Rs. 382, while the annual employment guarantee period has been extended from 100 days to 125 days. a family possessing a Rural Employment Guarantee job card can earn up to Rs. 47,750 annually through the scheme.
