Kerala Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Thursday strongly denied the authenticity of an alleged party circular circulating on social media and broadcast by certain television news channels, describing it as a fabricated document created to defame the party. He asserted that the claims contained in the purported circular were entirely false and intended to mislead the public.
In a detailed statement, Chandrasekhar dismissed reports suggesting financial irregularities linked to the BJP’s campaign during the recent Kerala Assembly elections. He maintained that no instance of financial misconduct had been identified anywhere within the party and reaffirmed that the BJP had adhered to a transparent and accountable financial system throughout the election process.
The Kerala BJP chief said the party had completed a comprehensive audit of all election-related accounts within days of the conclusion of the Assembly polls. According to him, the auditing exercise covered every organisational level, including the national leadership, state unit, district committees and Assembly constituency units. He said the extensive audit reflected the party’s commitment to financial discipline, accountability and transparent functioning.
Highlighting the party’s electoral performance, Chandrasekhar said the BJP had created history by securing three seats in the 140-member Kerala Legislative Assembly for the first time. He noted that the achievement demonstrated the effectiveness of the party’s organisation and campaign strategy. He also revealed that the BJP’s National Organisation General Secretary had personally congratulated party leaders and workers for conducting the election campaign in an organised and disciplined manner.
Chandrasekhar alleged that the fake circular was part of a deliberate disinformation campaign aimed at tarnishing the BJP’s image. According to him, forces opposed to the party’s growing political influence and organisational expansion had manufactured the document to spread confusion among the public and undermine the party’s credibility.
He urged BJP workers across Kerala to remain alert and exercise caution against what he described as coordinated attempts to circulate false information. Stressing the importance of verifying information before sharing it, Chandrasekhar said misinformation campaigns were increasingly being used to create unnecessary controversy and damage public trust in political institutions.
Responding to speculation regarding internal organisational matters, the BJP leader clarified that disciplinary proceedings within the party are a routine aspect of the functioning of any democratic political organisation. He said such internal processes are administrative matters handled within the party’s established framework and should not be interpreted as evidence of wrongdoing or financial misconduct.
Warning of firm action against those responsible, Chandrasekhar announced that the BJP would initiate legal proceedings against individuals involved in creating, publishing and circulating the fabricated circular as well as other misleading reports. He said the party would pursue all available legal remedies to protect its reputation and hold accountable those attempting to spread falsehoods.
